Delete your Mom Alarm Clock account
For the iPhone, iPad and Android apps
This page is for Mom Alarm Clock, by VARR Stack Technologies LLC. A parent can delete the family’s data in the app on iPhone and iPad, or ask us to delete it by email. On Android, a parent can delete alarms, remove children and, from version 8, delete the account in the app; on an older Android version, email us to delete the account.
In the app
Only a parent can use these controls.
iPhone and iPad
- Delete an alarm: in the child’s alarm list, tap Delete on the alarm, then Delete <alarm name>.
- Remove a child: on the child’s Edit child screen, tap Remove <child name> and delete their data.
- Delete your account: in Settings → Advanced, tap Delete account & all data.
Android
- Delete an alarm: tap Delete alarm on the alarm.
- Remove a child: tap Remove on the child.
- Delete your account: in Settings, under Account, tap Delete account and all data (version 8 and later). On an older version, email us as described below.
What each control deletes
- Delete an alarm: the alarm, its mornings, its attachments and its voice recording.
- Remove a child: that child’s profile, alarms, mornings, bedtime settings, voice recordings, morning voice messages, messages, attachments, reminders, reward redemptions, tamper events and alarm timing records. Items shared by the whole family, such as rewards, stay.
- Delete your account: the family, every child’s profile, all alarms, mornings, bedtime settings, voice recordings, morning voice messages, messages, attachments, reminders, rewards, reward redemptions, tamper events, alarm timing records and usage counts. Then it deletes the sign-in on that device: on iPhone and iPad, the account you are signed in with, including your email sign-in if you added one; on Android, the account signed in on that phone, including the email sign-in if the family was protected with an email address. The app then starts a new, empty sign-in. On iPhone and iPad, if you last signed in a while ago, the app asks for your password before it deletes the sign-in. You cannot delete your account while an alarm is ringing or a wake-up check is open on that phone.
When you delete an alarm or remove a child, the records are deleted once each child’s phone confirms its alarms are gone; a phone that is offline confirms when it reconnects. When you remove a child on iPhone or iPad and that child’s phone stays offline, you can choose Remove anyway; that phone may still ring until it reconnects. On iPhone, iPad and Android, deleting the account first asks every child’s phone to turn its alarms off and waits up to a minute for each phone to confirm. If a phone stays offline, you can choose Delete anyway; that phone may still ring its old alarms until it reconnects, and then it clears them.
Other phones in the family
After you remove a child or delete your account, alarms already set on other phones may still ring until those phones reconnect. When it reconnects, a child’s phone that no longer has a child in the family resets itself once no alarm is ringing on it, and shows “This phone was removed from the family.”
What the app cannot delete
The app cannot delete these records:
- Each phone’s membership record: the family it belonged to, its role (parent or child), and on Android that phone’s notification token, which the parent’s phone removes when the account is deleted and a child’s phone removes when it resets
- Which phone rings each child’s alarms, and requests from a child’s phone to become that phone, which the parent’s app cannot delete
- Instructions sent to a phone to replace an edited alarm or take an alarm off the phone
- Records of deletions made in the app
- Join codes
- Problem reports the app sent to us (the app cannot look them up to delete them)
- Analytics events the app recorded for the family
- Records of notifications sent to the family’s phones, and records of their delivery
- Records our server keeps while a deletion finishes
Email us as described below and we delete these within 30 days.
App install and usage statistics carry no account or family identifier, so we cannot find or delete one family’s statistics.
How to request deletion
What to include
The apps do not show an account or family ID, so we need these details to find your family. We use them only for your request:
- Each child’s name as shown in the app (a first name or the nickname you entered is enough)
- The phone or tablet model of each device in the family
- The approximate date the family was created
- If you added one: the email address used to sign in
How we confirm the request
- Accounts with an email address (iPhone and iPad, and Android families protected with an email address): we reply to your request and confirm it with the email address on the account.
- Accounts without an email address (Android families never protected with an email address, and iPhone or iPad accounts that never added one): we send you a short code; rename an existing alarm on the parent’s phone to that code. If you have no alarms, tell us and we will agree another way to confirm.
What we delete on request
For a request by email, we delete the family’s data, including:
- The parent and child profiles
- Alarms and mornings
- Tamper events
- Voice recordings and morning voice messages
- Push notification tokens and push logs
- Join codes
- Analytics events tied to the family
- The sign-in account itself (Firebase Authentication)
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
What we keep after a request by email
- Backups: backups are kept for seven days. Deleted data is removed from backups as those backups age out, within seven days.
- Email lists: if you joined a waitlist or product-update list, that data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, subject to limited records needed to document consent, suppression, security, or legal obligations.
When it happens
For a request by email, we complete deletion within 30 days of confirming the request, and reply to tell you it is done. Then we delete the email conversation about your request.
